細個時,衣褲破爛我哋會修補,傢俬亦會用到無可修補先換
決定丟棄之前,不如上網查下有冇修補方法,或者邊度可以
You may see these things as rubbish, but we see them as signs of hope!
In the past, we used to repair worn-out clothes and buy new furniture only when the items could no longer be repaired. When did we stop doing this? Now, when something is no longer fashionable or has a small problem, we simply replace it!
In 2013, the amount of domestic waste thrown into landfills hit over 6,000 tonnes per day. This waste includes durable household items such as mattresses and pieces of furniture.
Before you decide to dispose of something, first try to figure out how to repair it or look for place to fix it up. Or, you can always donate furniture to charity groups! Chu Kong Plan, our partner in this year’s #OneEarthMission, revives old furniture and gives it away or sells it at their second-hand store. Apart from giving a helping hand to low-income families or elderly people living alone, the materials which make up furniture like wooden boards, screws, hinges and so on can be recycled. Make a pledge to participate in the One Earth Mission today and start reducing solid waste! http://earthhour.hk/ (Get Involved page)
